The definition of bravery according to Merriam-Webster is the quality or state of having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty. On more than one occasion people have commented to me “you are so brave” when I share that I have chosen to live in a car. The statement baffles me as I don’t classify myself in the ‘bravery’ category. Our firefighters, police officers, military, paramedics.. the people that put their life on the line for us and don’t just do it once or twice but every single day are the brave ones! They are the ones facing danger, fear or difficulty.
I usually don’t let their comment go with a simple ‘thank you’ without letting the person know that I simply choose faith over fear. The definition of faith is the complete trust or confidence in someone or something. I rely on my Creator to direct my journey and trust that He will keep me out of harms way or at least provide me with the knowledge of what to do in unforeseen circumstances.
Trust is defined as a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. to me faith and trust go hand in hand and when you embrace both then fear just melts away.
I know they are just offering up kindness and support but at the same time I would like to encourage people who are thinking about life as a nomad that it doesn’t take skills or needing to be brave to live in this lifestyle. It only requires you to have faith and use it as your MO on any given day in any kind of circumstance.
I’ve been very fortunate and blessed to not have been faced with a scary, threatening, life or death situation. I’m ready to pull out my weapon of faith if need be but I also have a couple necessary tangible tools to empower and help me if faced with a dangerous situation.
My son gave me a Emergency tool 7-in-1 car safety tool for Christmas. It includes a window breaker, seat belt cutter, LED flashlight rescue tool, USB charger, SOS light (includes 4 super strong magnets to hang the flashing SOS light on your door, outside on your vehicle) and hand cranking charge for vehicle escape/field survival.

**disclaimer- you will be supporting me with your purchase as I am an amazon affiliate** Everyone needs to carry this handy dandy tool in their vehicle of choice.
In addition to the 7 in 1 tool I also carry a loud whistle, a small flashlight and pepper spray- link for Sabre 3 in 1 pepper spray- police strength- compact size w/clip – stand alone unit https://amzn.to/2CCROQr
Hopefiy I’m covered in the event of an emergency where I need to act in the midst of faith over fear. I’m thinking I just may add bear spray to my necessary tools as I head up to Washington for my summer ‘camp host’ job. Poor bear but blessed me!
Food for thought here today. Remember we all have been given the gift of faith over fear. It is up to us to activate this gift and use it not just in an emergency but all day every day. Don’t let the feeling that you are just now brave enough to live this kind of life on the road. I’m not brave. I choose faith over fear as my ‘MO’.
It’s my hope for you that today if you have doubts about what you can or cannot do that you will revisit those thoughts that keep you from living the life you were intended to have.
smiles and joy,
